Ocean Network Express (ONE) and SeaLead: new services calling at Red Sea ports.

Ocean Network Express (ONE) and SeaLead have announced new services calling at Red Sea ports, despite ongoing security concerns in the region.

ONE is launching a weekly Red Sea Gulf India 2 (RG2) service, connecting Mundra, Jebel Ali, Jeddah, Sohkna, and Aqaba. This complements their existing RGI service, enhancing connectivity and frequency in the area. While major container lines, including ONE, have rerouted long-haul services to avoid Houthi attacks, regional trades within the Middle East continue to navigate the Red Sea.

SeaLead, a regional player, has introduced a new Far East India Djibouti (FID) service, which includes a stop at Djibouti, located at the southern entrance to the Red Sea. This strategic move aims to enhance SeaLead's capabilities in China, India, and East Africa by leveraging Djibouti's crucial maritime position. The FID service originates in Shanghai and calls at several ports before reaching Djibouti.

SeaLead also operates other routes that transit the Red Sea, including services connecting India, Turkiye, and China. These developments highlight the ongoing importance of Red Sea trade routes despite security challenges in the region.
